When life gives you lemons, make lemon meringue pie!
Updated: Apr 10, 2020
Hey y'all! I can’t believe it's been almost a YEAR since my last post. Oh, how I wish I was sitting on the steps of Il Duomo in centro di Perugia. I hope everyone there, and everywhere else, is safe and healthy.

I’m writing this post from my kitchen table in my childhood home. Davidson closed campus about a month ago, and I’ve been home ever since. This is NOT how I imagined spending the last 40 days of my undergraduate career. I thought I’d be graduate school apartment hunting.

On to Plan B: I’m proud to announce the beginning of (drum roll, please)…LORD OF THE PIES! That’s right y’all, I’m going to work on realizing my dream of owning a pie shop.
Why pie? It’s simple: cooking = art, baking = science but pie = magic. My mother taught me the first two equations. But my high school job taught me the third one. Pie is the perfect combination of cooking and baking, and a blank canvas for experimentation. It brings happiness and recalls memories better than any other dessert. Plus, it’s a southern staple!
I’ll be using this blog to update everyone on Lord of the Pies until I get that website up and running. In the meantime, please wash your hands, stay home, and stay safe during this crazy time.
